With no experience behind the bar, each “Rookie” will train and compete each week for the shot at a cash prize, a bartending job at one of the hottest bars in Boston and the chance to leave their “Rookie” title behind.

Here’s a classic number from the song-writing team of Creamer and Layton, first published in 1922. I’m improvising the violin part, and my talented friend, Eddy Tenderloin is playing rhythm guitar. I collected some representative pictures and made a slydshow….drinking, eating, music, music, music, a little historical perspective, cute cheerleaders, oysters, more drinking, and finally….death. Layton wrote the melody and Creamer wrote the lyrics, which I’ll include HERE, just for fun and because they’re so artful…what superb imagery…heart and soul. I love this tune. Hope you like it, too.
